Today is the day that Digistamps4joy announces the Design Team, and I made it - my first as a DT member, so I hope I do them proud! Our first challenge was to design a card with one of their stamps, around this image, taking into account the patterns, colour, and layout.
So, after scrutinising the room, I decided to take up on the following characteristics:
1. stripes on cushions and wall;
2. rectangular cushions;
3. colours: white as the base colour, lime green, cerise (pink), and light blue;
4. a circle shape, as in the lamp and the spots on the one cushion, and finally,
5. a horizontal band cut by a vertical band on the left.
I used the "chef-Henri" stamp as my image, coloured him in with copics and fluorescent gel pens, and added a little clear stickles on his hat. The striped paper comes out of my stash (and yes it looks almost the same as the upholstery covering!). The circles were cut with 2 different size Nestabilities. The green 'flower' was made from 4 small hearts punched out of paper, and held together with a pink heart gem. So, here is my interpretation, and I'd love to know what you think.
Congratulations go to my fellow DT members (2 from South Africa, 1 x UK, 1 x USA, and 1 x New Zealand) - a real global team! I'd love for you to pop into their blogs, see what wonderful cards they have made, and congratulate them. They are:
Jen - Debbie - Louise - Audrey - Gemma and our guest designer for September - Jen (another one!).
Do pop into Mel's blog Digistamps4.joy to see all the other super digistamps she has there. There is a really really nice freebie there - thanks Jen (SA) - up for grabs for registered members.
