New digistamp - Home relocation

I love these little insects - the Dung Beetle. I mean, who in their right mind would build their home and have their kids in a ball of dung? And then still move it around like a mad man? During some of my field excursions for work - while chasing my favourite insect the locust - I often encounter dung beetles. I've watched 2 or 3 of them fighting over the same ball of dung, pushing it in all directions over amazing obstacles, and often just going around in circles - and they NEVER give up! A lesson in life?

The digistamp is a new one in the shop and called  'Home relocation", and I used a little artistic license to draw this one by adding 'screwheads to the joints and wing joints. The eyes are also a bit 'cartoony'.
The image is coloured with my pencils, and I still think there is much better control with colouring pencils than with alcohol pens - but that's my opinion of course. Very little else added to the card except my handmade Washi tape and one diecut swirl.

New items used - digistamp
Old items used - cardstock from stash, handwade Washi tape, glitter glue

Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas - wonderful wings

New digistamps = Colour stain

SIGH ... sometimes I amaze myself with my stupidity, and I have not quite figured out yet whether I 'really' am a little stupid, or it's just that I normally have about 10 issues swirling around in my mind, so that I do not concentrate properly! This card is a perfect example! The digistamp is a new one in the shop and called  'Colour stain".
Can YOU see where I went wrong with the colouring? grrr ... will re-do it another day. Right now am too busy hopping on one leg from kicking myself! The nail varnish level inside the bottle is angled wrongly - it should be level, horizontal, from left-to-right and NOT at an angle like I coloured it! Even IF the bottle was tipped, the surface should be horizontal with the earth's surface (unless I'm standing on the moon which I'm not!). Funny how one only sees errors AFTER one has photographed the card.

Now that I've finished hopping on one leg, I can tell you a little about what I used. The image eas coloured with alcohol pens, and I added 3 layers of glossy accents to the spilt nail varnish. The butterfly is made up of 2 layers - one with pink/silver foil, and the top later with acetate and a glittered edge. The bunting is made from small shapes I cut out of self-made Washi tape (I'm busy with a tutorial!).

New DS4J digistamp - Cityscape

Now this is a digistamp I have not seen before, so I drew this one and called it 'Cityscape". My thought was to try and create a night scene, so instead of printing onto white card, I printed the digistamp onto a darkish grey piece of scrapbooking cardstock, and it created JUST the mood I was looking for!
The buildings were hardly coloured in - all I used was 3 shades of warm grey alcohol pens to create shadows. The 'lights' in the buildings were created with a fluorescent gel pen - just a touch here and there! The sunset and water were both coloured with watercolour pencils, but because the cardstock has a texture to it, the colours did not blend as normal, but I actually like this patchy result!
Now here's the whole interesting part of this card .... see that psychedelic background print? That is not some paper I bought, but a gelli-printed background that my 5yr old granddaughter Xandrea made with my homemade gelatine plate, and was her very first effort!!! So proud of her. On its own, the page looked like a mess, but behind my digi, it suddenly came to life! I absolutely LOVE it!!!
A little bit of gold paper and gold peel-offs and the card is completed.
New items used - digistamp, gelli-printed paper

New DS4J digistamp - Pizza pizzaz

I have called this digi 'Pizza pizzaz". As I may no longer 'wheat products', at least I can still draw and colour in a pizza!
I used a new die as I thought the inside looks just like a tomato (sorry, my twisted mind)!! Digistamp is coloured with SN and Copic pens.
New items used - digistamp, die
Old items used - paper from stash, sentiment.

Switch over to BlogLovin

I'm not sure how many of my readers are using Google Reader to follow my blog, but with the 'promise' of it being removed by Google, I have investigated using BlogLovin. It was super easy to switch over, and I can still see all the blogs "I" am following. What's nice is that I now get an email every morning showing all the blog updates - with pictures, and I no longer have to log into Blogger dashboard to see them!

NOTE: Bloglovin is not replacing the 'Google Followers' button, just replacing the Google Reader (if you are using it). So if you are already a "follower" of my blog, then you do not need to do anything as you will still see all my updates on your Blogger dashboard.

ðŸ˜žðŸ˜žðŸ˜ž WHAT HAPPENED? Unbelievable! I cannot fathom out WHY I stopped writing on my blog after May 2017!!! I also cannot remember what happ...
