Wedding Album

My sister-in-law recently remarried, and as a trial run in developing a scrapbooked wedding album, I used her as the 'guineapig'! I hope her and her husband like the end result!! It took me a little while to get started, but once I had done the first page, the rest just fell into place. Yes, it took me a while (especially fixing up the poor photographs) and quite a bit of money, but I think it was worth it. Aaaaand now that I've broken the ice  .... I can steam ahead with any orders .

Front page. I thought it would be fun to design the front page to look like the front cover of a wedding magazine. I designed the layout in my scrapbooking software, then printed it out on photographic paper.

The Invitation page
I saved my copy of the invitation card, envelope, and map directions. So often this vital piece of the planning stage of the wedding is forgotten, so here it is , now saved for posterity!

Getting ready.
This is normally the most stressful time for the bride, and also the most pensive. The photographs often capture the 'before' activities and mood. This is a double page layout (using a sketch from Lets Scrap).

Bridegroom & Best Man
My first thought when I saw these photographs was "Mafia" and then I thought aha ... men in black, so I chose a black background, and added black/white striped paper and black/gold strips. I made the small paper-pieced tuxedo suit up out of little bits of paper (very fiddly!), then drew in silver lines to highlight the esdges. The words were cut with the SLICE and shadowed with white paper.

Here comes the Bride.
A bundle of nerves, yet still smiling broadly! Again a double page layout using this gorgeous sketch from Lets Scrap. I used 5 different blue-patterned papers for the blocks, an MS punch for the lace blocks, and holographic paper for the backing. Then I found a copy of the Wedding Chorus on the internet, reduced it, coloured it sepia with my software, and then distressed and chalked the edges.

The Ceremony
This is always a special and sacred time, and I wanted to ensure that the photographs were the central focus point on this double layout. I bought this really NICE wedding paper from Making Memories (Tie the Knot range), and because it has these great quotes all over the page, I ditched the idea of using a sketch, and instead positioned each photo so that all the quotes were visible, then added minimal embellishments.

Registry
Signing of the registry album is always a special and intimate family moment, where reality dawns that - yes, we are now officialy married! I used 4 papers from Making Memories (Tie the Know range), distressed the edges of the photos with a fine piece of sandpaper, then added a tag and some glitter glue. Simple, yet effective.

Congratulations
Here are some of the photos of the newly married couple leaving the church. Instead of confetti, the couple handed out 'bubble soap' and guests blew bubbles over them. Probably not all that visible here, but I added 3D gel to create bubbles on one of the photographs, and on the pages. The floweres were made by punching (MS Punch) the edge of a long strip of paper, chalking with blue, then crimping the paper, joining the 2 short edges, flattening the cirle, and gluing a button on top.

Group Photos
This again necessitated a double page layout, and a sketch from Lets Scrap was used to create this busy layout. I decided to go 'bold' and used a bold brown/orange striped background, and tamed is down by adding some flowers and swirls cut out of another paper. I then made tags out of a light beige colour so the couple can write the names onto. Butterflies were cut with a punch and glittered up.

The Flowers
A single page created to show all the different flower arrangements, from the bridal bouquet to the reception displays. The letters were cut with the Cuttlebug dies, spritzed with gold, then stuck onto blue holographic paper.

The Happy Couple
A double page layout using only 4 of the best photos of the couple. The leaf border was cut with a MS punch, sprayed with adhesive, then glittered with a very fine clear glitter (I managed quite effectively to get the glitter EVERYWHERE!!!). The flowers were cut with Marianne dies, and the swirls with my brand new Cricut.

Reception Decor
I noticed some of the guests giving me a 'funny look' when I was taking decor items off the tables, but I know why I was doing it! I wanted to take a real-life sample of everything used as decor, so I took one of the large decorations on the back of a chair, cut it up, and made a miniature version for the album!! The background is the serviette that was on the table (yes, I took a clean one hehe), and all the small flowers shown here were actually scattered on the tables.

Reception
A double page layout showing some of the guests, the speeches, the cake, and the garter removal. The cupcake wrapper is an original.

Mr & Mrs
The last page of the album was made with a Lets Scrap sketch, and I decided to go with a white glittered background page, then I found this purple/white glittered paper to match! I cut out 5 of the flowers and used them as separate embellishments, and punched some flowers out of green card.

So, this is the album completed!
