Patties Creations Challenge

This is my first card for the DT of Pattie's Creations, and I am absolutely loving her digis!!! The theme for this challenge is halloween or autumn colours, and at my suggestion, Pattie drew this oh so GORGUSS image of a Great Dane dog. I have owned 4 of these amazing dogs already (still have 2), and will never own another breed of dog!!!! So when I saw this stunning image I knew this would be my card for this challenge.

I printed our 2 images (reversing one), and coloured both in with Copics and coloured pencils. Yes, this is what my current GDs look like! Then I thought, if this was autumn in South Africa, both of them would be chasing the falling leaves around, so punched out a whole pile of leaves from different coloured cardstock, then glued them into a 'pile' on the card. Don't these 2 just look so mischevious, almost as if they are saying "who me??". Thanks Pattie for this great image, and if you want to buy it, head over to her SHOP.
BUUUUUT don't forget, you can enter the latest challenge on the BLOG as well! We'd love to see what you have done with the Patties Creation images!
Woof woof for now.

Angel Bear

This is my third entry for the CDAC Progressive Challenge #5 and I used the 'cool spectrum' of the colour wheel with the blue. I used this cute image from Just Some Lines, then went a little 'mad', and I suspect it may have something to do with this awful heat wave we are experiencing here in Pretoria!! After colouring in the cute bear with my watercolour pencils, I thought he/she would look cute on some airy-fairy blue chiffon. Well, I had a piece of this blue chiffon with a gold tinge, pulled out threads to fray the edges, gathered the bottom edge, and glued it down to the card. Yes I agree, a little out-of-the-box, but the card looks really cute in real life!

Phooka Christmas Tags

My second entry for the CDAC Progressive Challenge #5, and I decided these super little digis from Digis by Phooka would look nice on Christmas tags! I cut 6 x tags (3 red, 3 green) with my Slice machine, cut a smaller white tag, coloured in the Phooka images, glued these onto the tag, then added some silver and gold glitter glue. Then, because I thought it might just make a nice little gift, I made a pocket out of red and green card, and put the 6 images inside this.

Gingerbread Girl

The first card entry for the CDAC Progressive Challenge number 5,and I used the lovely digistamp from SSSB Designs . Basically I used almost everything from my stash, including that gorgeous butterfly ribbon!

BRIDE digistamp

I decided to enter the CDAC Digital Drawing Challenge again with the theme "Sparkle, Twinkle or Shine", and thought what better than a bride's sparkly wedding gown! So here is my image. I will make a card up soon to show what the end result could be.

An Update (1 Nov.2011) ...... I won FIRST place with this digi for the non-professional category!!!

Guest Designer for Nettie G's Digital Gems

I was honoured to be asked to be the Guest Designer for Nettie G's Digital Gems latest challenge on her blog called .... "anything but a rectangle". I used this absolutely gorgeous GORGUSS image from her shop called "Oreo under the Tree", and made the card into a 'hexagonal plate and stand card'. So, here it is...

This digistamp of course lends itself to LOTS and LOTS of bling to match the Christmas theme, so all the little twinkling lights on the tree, as well as the baubles were glittered up!! Oreo was coloured with water colour pencils. I punched out  a whole pile (well it seemed like it anyway) of red flowers for the border, and various green leaves to fill up empty spaces. Gems were then added to the centre of each flower.

3rd place scrapbook win

PTL, I won 3rd place in my first ever official scrapbooking competition! And what makes this even more wonderful is that I really didn't think I stood a chance against all the stunning and professional entries! Remember my post about my "moment-in-time in Kenya"? Well it was this layout that won the prize. So I'm currently jumping up and down with glee!  A BIG thank you to Donnallee of Fruitful Hands who arranged this competition, and if you'd like to see ALL the entries, go to their Facebook page.

Beste Wense

The third card entry for the CDAC Progressive Challenge. The colour theme I used this time is blue, silver, and white, with a little dusty beige added in. I mounted the image onto a darker blue cardstock, then onto a die cut circle shape cut out of silver paper. Flat pearls and flowers were added for embellishment.

Pink Mandala

This is the second card I em entering in the CDAC Progressive Challenge. The image is from Daisy Doodles. This card was made by changing the line colours of the mandala from black to grey (on my PC), then printing this onto a holographic pink card. I decided not to colour in the image, but instead just added silver and pink glitter powder to highlight certain areas. My photography does not do this card justice unfortunately.

Baie Dankie

So, it's time for the 4th round of the CDAC Challenges! Fortunately the CDAC DT accommodated people like me who do not celebrate or promote halloween, and provided this absolutely gorgeous mandala image (from Daisy Doodles) for us to use. It was a challenge to create 3 different cards with the same image, but I actually ended up having fun colouring this image in my software programme, so 3 cards coming up! This first one I decided to go with a colour scheme of green and gold - very patriotic at the moment with SA in the rugby world cup - so I'm saying Thank You to the team "in advance" for bringing the cup home!!
