New releases at Digistamps4Joy - New Year streamers

My third post to show off some of the new releases at Digistamps4Joy on the LAST Sunday of 2012. This is my own drawing that was released today and it is called "New Year streamers".  So to all my friends out there, this is MY way of wishing you all a Happy New Year, and may 2013 bring you peace, happines, and may that shop eventually dock in your harbour in 2013!

The image on the card is coloured with my SN pens. I added LOTS of small colourful gems, as well as a glittered paper as background.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Hiding in my craft room - freestyle
Drunken Stampers - all that glitters
Crafty Mess - show some sparkle
Little Claires Inspiratinos - new year

New releases at Digistamps4Joy - Hibiscus

My second post to show off some of the new releases at Digistamps4Joy on the LAST Sunday of 2012.
I used an image that was drawn by Jen, one of the artists at DS4J, and it is called "Hibiscus". An easy image to colour in and I decided to go with really bright pink/cerise colours, and show this off on a totally black background. The image on the gatefold card is coloured with my SN pens. I added LOTS of glitter glue on the flowers, and closed the card with a flower button and some green cord.

Hiding in my craft room - freestyle
Drunken Stampers - all that glitters
Crafty Mess - show some sparkle

New Releases at Digistamps4Joy - Merle

This post is to show off some of the new releases at Digistamps4Joy on the LAST Sunday of 2012.
I used an image that was drawn by Jen, one of the artists at DS4J, and it is called "Merle". A gorgeous image, and I enjoyed making up this card. The image is coloured with my SN pens, and then I added 2 new diecuts I recently purchased, and a punched border.

SHOPPING DIVAS

Digistamps4Joy has released some new images today, and I used the "Button Set" that I drew for the store.
This is certainly NOT a clean and simple card as I merged 3 DS4J images, and then added the new buttons as embellishments!!

I merged the following DS4J images in MSWord using the PNG file formats ... "Walkies", "Shopping Diva", and "Shop Front"  to create the scene, then printed out the final image and coloured it in with my SN pens. Three of the buttons in the "Button Set" were printed straight onto patterned paper (paper pieced), cut out,  tied with a small piece of coloured twine, then popped on the card with foam tabs. I added a little clear glitter glue to 2 of the buttons, added a tag, and 2 swirls.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Lady Annes - anything-goes
Mema's Crafts - anything goes
One Crazy Stamper - anything goes
The Outlawz - Copic/promarker - shopping
Dilly beans - anything goes
Joyful stamper - anything goes
Divas by design- use 2 or more patterned papers

New Digistamps4Joy releases - 18 Nov. 2012 (2)

Here is the second card I made with one of the new Digistamps4Joy releases this Sunday.

This is one of those CAS (clean and simple) cards I'm not very good at making, as I always tend to add, add, and add more embellishments!! But with this particular image (Footprints in the sand) that I drew and which comes in a set of 4 different footprints (bird, horse, cat, human), I thought it would be best just to make it look as if a bird had walked past. I copied the same image 6 times, then rotated each one slightly to create the larger track. The small track was made with the same image, reduced in size, and again slightly rotated. Each footprint was coloured with my SN pens, and the edge of the sand-coloured paper was chalked with a dark brown. This simple arrangement was pasted onto an embossed white background, and then onto a darker coloured cardstock. I think that the sentiment ("Don't ask God to guide your footsteps if you are not willing to move your feet") is so apt, and created it on the 'puter.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Lady Annes - anything-goes
Totally Gorjuss - plain-and-simple
Splendiferous Creations- birds-of-feather

New Digistamps4Joy releases - 18 Nov. 2012

This is my first card to showcase one of the new Digistamps4Joy releases this morning.

I used the new image which I drew called "Meerkat Mervyn". These cute little animals are plentiful in our country South Africa, and I thought a perfect sentiment could be for a friend to say I am looking out for her. I played around a little in Word with the PNG version of the image which has a transparent background. I copied Mervyn three times, moved one copy slightly behind the other, then with the third copy I re-sized and flipped Mervyn to create the smaller meerkat on the left. All 3 of these "Mervyns" were merged onto the image called "Log" also in the Digistamps4Joy store.

From my stash, I found a piece of paper - that's probably been there more than a year already - that looks like rippled sand, diecut out the middle shape, and pasted this onto a patterned brown paper. The log was coloured with my SN pens, while I used watercolour pencils to colour the 3 images. The gold flowers were actually a dull brown material, but I spritzed them with gold. Some brown and gold ribbon, a PC generated sentiment, and a few pearls complete the picture.

Digistamps4Joy NEW releases - 4 November 2012

It's Sunday, and Digistamps4Joy has released 10 brand new images. I made a card with one of the new images called "Tree frame".
I drew this image because at the moment my city Pretoria is one MASS of purple colour with all the Jacaranda trees flowering after the good rains we have had. I love this time of year, and although it only last for 4-6 weeks, it just lifts one's spirit to see this display of purple splendour! This is what my city looks like now, and below is my card. I used 4 shades of purple SN pens to stipple the colours, and dotted some green in between for the leaves.

Then click on the Freebie category on the left hand side, add to cart, check out, choose a payment method (you will not have to pay!!!), and confirm the order. The image is a sentiment that I designed and is perfect for our upcoming Christmas/holiday season cards. This is the card I made up with the image. I also combined it with one of the new releases this Sunday - the Christmas Bauble.

Now why did I make a pink Christmas card? Well, I have a tradition in my home that the Christmas tree is decorated with a new colour scheme every year, and my granddaughter chose PINK, WHITE and SILVER this year. I'm hoping I can find 'pink' decorations in the shops!!!

Here is a close up of the one bauble (drawn by JenLee), and the sentiment (current freebie).

CDAC drawing entry - "Got ya"

I found some time to do a drawing for the CDAC Digital drawing challenge, and here it is ... "Got Ya!!"
The theme was halloween or scary, but because I do not celebrate halloween, I thought that sharks are generaly 'scary' to most people. But who wants a scary shark on their card? So I cartoonised him slightly by giving him a silly grin. Hope you like it. I will put him in the shop this Sunday.

21 Oct - New releases at Digistamps4Joy

It's Sunday, and Digistamps4Joy has released 10 spanking new images, drawn by Jen, myself, my dad (yes!!!) and from the Janel range at Country Crafts.  I made a card with the image I drew and called it "Ice skates" and this is available in the SHOP.  I know we are in summer here in the southern hemisphere, but I just could not resist making an icy cold card with snow!

The image required very little colouring with my alcohol pens. The 'starry' shapes were cut with the "Simply 2-Die-4" die set, I punched the white flowers and silver centers, and added brads to hold them together. The DP with snowflakes is from "W & M" (I love their paper sets). To finish off the card I added glitter gems and white flower soft. The sentiment is a peel-off. Here is a close-up of the "snow".

New releases at Digistamps4Joy

It's Sunday, and Digistamps4Joy has released 12 brand new images. I made a card with one of the images called "Winston". Now this one has a special meaning to me because my father drew it in 1951 - so dad, this is for you! I scanned in his drawing and digitised the image, then searched for a suitable Churchill quote! The end result is this easel card which could be given to any person.

I used my Spectrum Noir pens to colour the image, dies for the oval shapes, a new punch for the lacey double-sided border, and created the sentiment on the PC.

Challenge #52 at Digistamps4Joy

YES, it's time for a new challenge at Digistamps4Joy - Challenge #52 -
"Create a tag OR incorporate a tag on your papercraft project".

I decided to create AND sort of incorporate my tag on this flat card. I've made this type before as it works quite nicely by making a little pocket on the front to slip the tag into. I used the TEA TIME CORNER image from the Digistamps4Joy STORE and coloured it in with SN pens, then added the requisite "bling" to the tablecloth. Do pop into the DS4J BLOG and see what the other DT members have created for this challenge, and then enter YOUR creation in the InLinkz to put yourself in line for winning a prize!

Twigis

A twinchie is a 2 inch x 2 inch piece of artwork, in other words, any drawing/painting that fits onto a 2" square block! So I played around a little with creating a digistamp to fit this size, and came up with my first set which I am calling the "Beach twigis". The word TWIGI is my own definition for the mix between a 'twinchie' and a 'digi'. As these are miniature works of art, none of the lines have been drawn with a ruler, which I think adds to their charm. The set is made up of 6 artworks plus one sentiment and will be available in the Digistamps4Joy shop on Sunday 30th September.
I then coloured in 5 of the images (6th one is an ice cream cone but not shown) and the sentiment with SN pens, and made up a card with the coloured images.
I think the beauty of these is first of all that they are DIGISTAMPS so can be resized to 1" artwork ("inchies") or larger if you want a larger image than 2", therefore no boundaries! Secondly, adding all, or some, or even only one twigi to a card opens up a plethora of layout opportunities. Thirdly, they are so easy to colour in!!!! I actually had fun with this set.
I entered this card into a challenge at ...
Show us your twinchies challenge - add a stamped image
Bearly Mine - add a sentiment
Party time Tuesdays - anything goes
Paper Crafting Journey - must use sentiment.
Patties Creations Challenge - anything goes

New digistamp releases at Digistamps4Joy

It's Sunday, and Digistamps4Joy has released another 10 images. I got to play with one of the images called "Onika" and I made a centre-step card.
I used a combination of Spectrum Moir and watercolouring pencils to colour the image. The leaves were punched with 2 different punches, and the shape around the image was cut with a die.
